How to Get your Master’s in Engineering Management Program Certified by the American Society for Engineering Management

The American Society for Engineering Management is the lead society for certifications of the Master’s in Engineering Management programs. ASEM has published program certification standards that draw on the EMBOK. The webinar will go through in detail the ASEM academic program certification standards and outline the process for programs to apply for and get certified. The webinar will also include how to prepare a study guide, how to prepare for a program certification visit and the process for recertification.

About the Speaker

Ben Baliga is a Professor of Engineering Management at St. Cloud State University (SCSU) and is a Director of the graduate Engineering Management programs at SCSU. He has previously served as a chair of the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at SCSU for 2 terms. He is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt and consults widely in Minnesota as a Licensed Professional Engineer. He is the founding director of the 2 Engineering Management programs at SCSU which were started in 2003 and 2006. He serves on the board of ASEM and leads their master’s program certification function. He has served as the President of ASEM and is a fellow of ASEM as well as a Certified Professional in Engineering Management. He was awarded the Bernie Sarchet Award for service to ASEM in 2017. Prior to joining SCSU in 2001, he worked for a decade in Australia at Deakin University and Swinburne University in their schools of Engineering. He was a PhD supervisor at Deakin University. Prior to moving to Australia in 1991, he worked as an Executive at Tata Motors for a decade and managed Automotive Engine Manufacturing. Ben has served on the editorial board of AIMS Journal of Management since 2012. Ben is an avid skier and biker, and loves to travel, and has traveled to more than 25 countries.
