PRACTITIONER AND INDUSTRY TRACK:

The Practitioner and Industry Track provides an opportunity to highlight key insights and new application challenges that arise from real world implementations of engineering management practice and theory. Papers should include thorough and detailed descriptions of activities that have implications for practicing managers, for education, and research of emerging and current engineering management issues. Topics can include, but are not limited to:

  • Best practices and lessons learned in engineering and technical management, Personnel management practice including ethics and bias in engineering management.
  • Continuous support and improvement of deployed systems, Improvement in implementation at speed, scale, and low-cost, Life cycle analysis from design to deployment and retirement
  • Case studies
  • Handling unexpected events and behavior, including risk management methods, Negative results related to real-world applications, Testing or implementing novel or previously unsolved engineering management problems.
  • Insights on the practice of engineering management that provoke practitioner level discussions on application and implementation or expand and challenge the practice and methodologies of the engineering management discipline.

Note: Papers in the Practitioner and Industry Track will be peer-reviewed through a separate peer-review process with review criteria and standards for application-based papers. Papers submitted to the Practitioner and Industry Track will be included in the conference proceedings as a separate category of papers from the Technical Track papers.

TUTORIALS, WORKSHOPS, PANELS, ROUNDTABLES, AND SPECIAL SESSIONS:

Please also note that leaders of panels, workshops, and tutorials should follow the instructions/deadlines for authors to submit a document that describes the details of their session. Please see IAC Author Instructions page for templates to submit your proposals. If you have any question regarding this, please email IAC@asem.org.
