ASEM Student Webinars - Academic Partnership Series

"Careers in Product Development"

A webinar for Academic Partnerships and Student Members

Presenter Joseph W Lampinen, NPDP, PMP

Senior Director, Product Development, Kelly

 27 Jan 2021 at 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM (EST)

Technical product design, as delivered by an engineer, provides only one part of the complete ready-for-market package needed by manufacturers to launch a new product. Product Development is a rewarding career field requiring unique combinations of technical ingenuity, project management skill, and business/marketing savvy. The ability for engineers and engineering leaders to enter the field is excellent, with the proper preparation. This session will address the product development profession, common career pathways, and how to prepare oneself to compete for opportunities.
